What is a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) on a computer – TPM एक Microchip होती है जिसको encryption key से related basic security provide करने ले लिए design किया गया है | किसी भी desktop or portable computer के motherboard मे TPM को install किया जाता है एवं ये system से hardware bus की help से interact करती है | 

वे कम्प्यूटर्स जिनमे TPM होता है वे cryptographic keys को create कर सकते है एवं उनको encrypt कर सकते है जिसको केवल TPM ही वापस decrypt  कर सकता है|  इस process को “wrapping” or “binding” a key कहते है जो की key को disclose नहीं होने देता | हर TPM मे  एक master wrapping key store होती है जिसको की Storage Root Key (SRK) कहते है |
